Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract assignment with bi-weekly orientation starting January 12th
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Weekend option available with three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float, mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• 32-bed Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-7 on nights
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class completion
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Skillset includes initiating/titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin), PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, and nephrostomy tube care
• Care for high acuity telemetry/medical-surgical patients including cardiac conditions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and post-ablation patients
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
