Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Release Management to join our sophisticated technology team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust, automated release pipelines that ensure the efficient, reliable, and secure delivery of software applications across The Carlyle Group. You will bridge the gap between development, operations, and business needs, driving continuous improvement in our release processes and fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Pipeline Architecture & Management : Design, build, and maintain scalable, automated CI/CD pipelines for various applications, ensuring seamless integration, testing, and deployment.
Mentorship & Guidance : Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams on DevOps and release management best practices.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all release processes adhere to industry best practices, internal standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Integrate security best practices into the release pipeline (DevSecOps).
Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Lead the effort in troubleshooting and resolving complex deployment and release-related issues, minimizing downtime and impact on end-users.
Risk Management & Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate release-related risks. Develop and implement effective contingency and rollback strategies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
5-10+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Release Engineering.
Proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing complex CI/CD pipelines.
Extensive experience in release management methodologies and best practices.
Experience working within financial services or highly regulated environments is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
CI/CD Tools: Expertise with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Cloud Platforms: Proficient with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Containerization & Orchestration: Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
IaC & Configuration Management: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell.
Version Control: Deep understanding of Git and branching strategies (e.g., Gitflow).
Monitoring & Logging: Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK Stack.
Operating Systems: In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows.
Security: Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and tools.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
