The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced Observation Unit caring for adult patients who require additional observation to determine if hospital admission is necessary. The unit manages a high turnover of patients with diverse conditions, ranging from short stays to full admissions. The role involves providing care for both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients, with 24/7 provider coverage.

Responsibilities:
- Provide care for adult patients in the Observation Unit.
- Assess patients to determine the need for hospital admission.
- Manage a high turnover of patients, averaging 20-27 patients per day.
- Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals.
- Care for patients with diverse conditions, from short stays to full admissions.
- Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- RN License (NY License ONLY)
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Two years of Med/Surg experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- NIHSS certification
Special Considerations:
- Must be available for Days, Evenings, Nights, and Rotating Shifts.
- Must be available for On-Call, Call Back, Charge, Holidays, and Weekends as needed.
