Job Summary:

The Global Operations and Maintenance Lead will lead the monitoring, maintenance, performance, configuration & tuning, baseline deployment, and site coordination for a globally distributed application with 5 or more instances in a variety of environments (cloud and on-premises). Our Satellite Ground Systems Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring communication, surveillance, and defense capabilities through cutting-edge satellite systems. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

The Global Software Operations and Maintenance Lead will lead the deployment of complex systems in an agile DevSecOps environment for our Satellite Ground Systems. This role involves close collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable and high-performance software solutions. Other responsibilities to anticipate may include:

• Lead, configure, tune, and coordinate the deployment for satellite ground systems in an agile DevSecOps environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Participate in design reviews, and system integration activities.
• Be a team player incorporating a team-based success philosophy.
• Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of their immediate supervisor.
• Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in satellite technology to drive innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of software engineering experience.
• Required technologies, frameworks, tools, and services:
• Experience in containerization with Docker, Orchestration with Kubernetes, and Rancher
• Experience with DevSecOps practices, including working abilities with Jenkins, Gradle, Junit, Puppet
• Experience with Agile development to include Kanban and Scrum
• Experience with Splunk, Spring, Kafka, Apache, Ansible, PKI and various access/authentication controls
• Experience with Linux tools for network troubleshooting
• Capable of using technology and tools to quickly fault isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.
• Good understanding of CM processes (builds/merges/testing/deployments)
• Ability to keep up with a fast-growing system with new capabilities fielded into OPS every 4-6 weeks.
• Ability to remain engaged with the development team, attend capability demos/selloffs, and provide mission understanding to Software Engineers
• CompTIA Security+ certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Desired technologies, frameworks, tools, and services:
• AWS, VMWare, Bash, Python, Helm, Grafana
• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
