Job Description: Pizza Maker / Pizzaiolo

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pizza Maker/Pizzaiolo to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience working with dough, understands proper pizza preparation techniques, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves crafting high-quality pizzas with consistency, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and contributing to an excellent guest experience. A passion for great food and attention to detail are essential. Experience in fast paced pizzerias is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, stretch, and hand-toss pizza dough to the restaurant’s specifications.
  • Assemble pizzas with accuracy, consistency, and attention to presentation.
  • Operate pizza ovens, monitor cooking times/temperatures, and ensure proper bake quality.
  • Follow established recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pizza station and surrounding prep areas.
  • Manage prep lists, rotate stock, label ingredients, and ensure freshness of all toppings.
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.

Side Tasks & Additional Duties

  • Prepare fresh ingredients (e.g., slicing vegetables, portioning cheese, making sauce).
  • Assist with dough production, including mixing, balling, proofing, and storage as needed.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and prep tools.
  • Support other kitchen stations during busy periods as needed.
  • Help with daily opening/closing tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
  • Receive and store deliveries, check inventory, and report shortages.
  • Participate in menu changes, specials, or testing new recipes.
  • Provide training or guidance for new team members as required
