Position Summary
The Finance Manager position ensures the integrity of financial reporting and the efficient execution of functions related to the general ledger, tax compliance, insurance/risk management, and treasury activities. The Manager will play a key role in maintaining compliance with internal policies and external federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting
Manage and reconcile a portfolio of general ledger accounts.
Prepare and post journal entries and actively support the comprehensive month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist with company-wide budgeting and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate fringe benefit accounting.
Ensure strict compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP.
Treasury and Cash Management
Assist in the preparation of daily cash management reporting.
Perform and maintain bank reconciliations.
Manage banking records and support ongoing treasury reporting requirements.
Ensure adherence to treasury policies and internal controls.
Tax Compliance
Support the preparation of the corporate tax provision.
Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns, including income/excise, sales/use, property, and payroll taxes.
Maintain accurate tax documentation and provide support during audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Coordinate necessary information flow with external tax advisors.
Risk Management and Insurance
Assist in the annual insurance policy renewals and policy amendment processes.
Coordinate the collection of data required for insurance audits.
Maintain a current file of Certificates of Insurance (COIs), obtaining new ones as required.
Internal Controls and Audit Support
Maintain and update the corporate policies and procedures database.
Support all internal and external audit processes.
Ensure adherence to GAAP and company internal control standards.
Maintain comprehensive and organized financial documentation.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
3+ years of progressive experience in public or corporate accounting.
Prior exposure to tax and/or treasury functions is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with major accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
