Job Description

Carpet Plus is looking for experienced, independent carpet crews to install all types of carpet in residential homes within a 30 mile radius of Charlottesville. Potential installers must be licensed, insured, maintain a professional appearance, be organized, punctual, and able to manage communications and craftmanship at the highest levels.

This position requires an individual that takes tremendous pride in their work and is able and willing to perform to very high standards. This is a contract position that requires availability on weekdays. While our preference is someone with availability Monday through Friday, we are also willing to work with crews who have only a few days available per week.

Requirements include:

1) Installing carpet at the highest levels of quality, following recommended standards from organizations like CFI, NWFA, WFCA, etc.

2) Experience with proper leveling, floor prep, installing and removing trim, furniture moving, and removal and disposal of existing floors.

3) Crews that take pride in their craft and place an emphasis on quality and craftsmanship over speed and ease.

4) A history of working in a team-oriented environment, interacting with sales, warehouse, and operations teams with a desire to solve problems together and a willingness to ask questions when you are unsure of the answer.

5) Strong communication skills and an ability to create a professional relationship with a variety of customers.

6) Integrity, honesty, and a willingness to contribute as a key member of a team.

7) A minimum of 2 people on the jobsite at all times.

Qualified candidates will meet the following criteria:

1) 5+ years’ experience installing carpet at the highest levels of quality, following recommended standards from organizations like CFI, NWFA, WFCA, etc.

2) Licensed contractor in the state of Virginia, with active business license and insurance

3) A devotion to excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

4) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

5) Self-motivated, with a willingness to continually learn about new installation methods and trends.

6) Possess all tools needed to complete the installation.

7) Be a licensed driver and possess an adequate vehicle to transport the crew and materials to the jobsite in a safe and professional manner.

Job type: Contract

Schedule: Monday to Friday; varies as installation jobs are available, though we make every effort to fill your available days.

Location: Ideally, the installer is based within 1 hour of Charlottesville, VA and willing to travel within a 30 minute perimeter of our store in downtown Charlottesville.
